Carlo Palomino's Advice for Sales Guys in New Jersey- How to Sell Better?

New Jersey is home to people from all across the world but if you Ask Carlo Palomino, Garden City has two major communities that make around 80% of NJ’s population: Americans (70%) and African-Americans (15%). It’s therefore quite obvious that your sales pitch should majorly focus on the needs, wants, and style of these two communities.

This blog will be somewhat different from the last ones. In the recent past, Carlo Palomino shared investment advice for newbies. Today, I’ll be sharing some insights to help sales representatives just starting their career in the New Jersey region to grow their sales numbers and hit targets!

Let’s start by learning about the people of New Jersey. This will help you make the most of your profession!

New Jersey’s people

In Carlo Palomino’s NJ, people are actually pretty simple. But when it comes to buying, they are demanding and won’t compromise with low-quality products or services. So, when making a sales call, remember the codes that I am going to share with you!

Here are Carlo Palomino’s 5 sales tips to sell better in Hanover, Whippany, Trenton or any region of New Jersey!

Make your customer the hero

Research has proven the cognitive effects of stories for motivating behavior change. Be it selling real estate in New Jersey or anywhere else, Carlo Palomino recommends telling stories! It’s a powerful way to illustrate the value of your solution to your prospect.

Whether your story is about selling hot dogs on the streets of Hanover, or it’s about playing piano in the Opera House, every story needs a hero. In your story, the hero is right in front of you, the CUSTOMER!

Don’t over-personalize your campaigns

Most marketers and salespeople believe, ‘more personalized your outreach, the better will be your sales results’. But you may be surprised to know that a highly personalized outreach won't be as effective as less time-intensive personalization. Wondering why?

Over-personalization often leads to a lot of time drain and gives our campaigns very little visibility. This can be especially true if you are running your sales campaign in small regions like Hanover and Whippany. In short, keep it a little broad!

Use “You”, not “We”

Try to establish a collaborative experience with your customer when pitching a sale. Show your customers that you understand their world by positioning yourself in their shoes. The word “we” means the supplier and the buyer are in it together. Avoid using this kind of phrase as it might actually hamper your ability to move your prospect to agree to your call.

Instead, compel your client that “you” (means they) are in great need of that product or service. This will automatically create a situation of necessity in their mind and the possibility of buying your service or commodity might come to exist.

Challenge your prospect’s status quo

You won’t believe what Carlo Palomino is about to tell you! Most of the salespeople think that the customer has only two choices; one is you and the other one is your competitor. This is so not sure. Here’s the third option, “NO DECISION”.

Be it New Jersey or Las Vegas, customers are almost the same everywhere; only the degree varies. They often get confused! Remember, it’s not always about introducing your product, its features, and benefits. Get them into a conversation and try to answer their queries before making a sales pitch. This is what Carlo Palomino has to recommend!

Digital support matters

The above interesting tips were for face to face conversations. But there are times where you need to cater to your customer over the call or chat over social media. In such a scenario, the dynamics of the conversation has to change.

Over the phone, make sure that your tone is professional, supportive, and encouraging. When interacting through social media or chat, tweak your style as per customer responses.
